My Weekend Reading List - 1/11/2013

Hey Guys,

Judging from all the comments I got on Wednesday’s Quick Tip, “Now Google’s Ranking YOU,” I can tell you guys are super motivated to make some headlines in 2013. Maybe we’ll all be bookmarking your posts by the end of the year. Here’s to carrying that momentum forward throughout the year!

I really wish you all could make it to this year’s Traffic & Conversion Summit… but I know a lot of you can’t. Well, if you aren’t able to make it this year, at least you can read the same articles and blog posts that I’m looking over as I make my last minute preparations for San Francisco:

Rules for Guest Posting: Guidelines & Best Practices – Guest posting is a great way to get SEO and boost your authority as a expert (aka boost your AuthorRank). But you need to know how to get started, and how to get the most out of your guest posts.

7 Targeted Social Networks Niche Marketers Should Try – Everybody has a Facebook profile, but that doesn’t mean that’s where they really like to engage… You’ve got to find where your customers actually like to hang out and socialize. I’m always surprised by how often it’s not Facebook or Twitter.

Doing What You Love (But Maybe You Can’t Get Paid for It) – I know a ton of you are writers at heart, even if that’s not exactly what you do for a living. Seth Godin is one of my favorite writers, and he’s hugely successful… So, I’m pretty sure he’s not saying that you shouldn’t try to make money with your art.

Behind the Scenes of a $500,000 eCommerce Business for Sale – Here you have it, folks; this is what a healthy eCom business looks like behind the scenes. And just think… this is an ecommerce site built around freaking popcorn machines! Not exactly a growth industry…

Want to weigh in on any of these topics? Wanna add any items to my reading list? Leave me a comment!

Love the section on guest posting, I've dabbled in guest posting before and it's something I'm looking to do more of in the personal development niche. There is lots of good advice in the article like the TIP for internal linking to the blog owners other posts.

    Thanks for this resource

I hope that the T&C summit may be available, at some point, via recording for those of us unable to attend.
The reading list each week is great. Thanks!
