My Weekend Reading List - 11/23/2012

weekend reading list

Hey Guys,

Happy Black Friday! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving with all of your favorite people yesterday… and that you’ve done as much or as little Black Friday shopping as your heart desires today. For me, it’s definitely the latter… I’m not really one for long lines and crowds.

Instead of standing in line for a ridiculously low price on a TV this weekend, I’m going to relax and catch up on some digital news. Here are a few of the articles, blog posts, etc. that I’ve got bookmarked to read over the next few days:

Amazon Offers ‘Amazon Pages’ For Brands – Is Amazon launching its own social shopping network? The new “Amazon Pages” feature allows you to customize your page’s design, share messages across Facebook and Amazon, track your analytics… your Page can even have its own URL.

Freedom in a Digital World – Seth Godin is one of the sharpest marketing minds out there, but he’s also a philosopher (maybe that’s why he’s such a good writer). So whenever I see that he’s published something longer than a paragraph, I know that he’s got something pretty important to say.

Your Content, Now Mobile – Have you thought about how many new mobile devices will be hitting your site after Christmas? Your mobile traffic could legitimately double in 2013. If you haven’t fully mobilized your content yet, ahem, you should probably get on that… like right now!

All the Black Friday Deals: 2012 – I just couldn’t resist sharing this… and NOT because I like Black Friday shopping (I don’t), because it’s such a freaking smart content idea. Yep, Gizmodo compiled an interactive list of all the major Black Friday deals, all in one post. You can even comparison shop. Very smart…

What is old is new. My comment is not right on this blog post, but it reflects a little know fact for anyone pre Internet age. Way back int the 1950's my Mum (or Mom in USA), used to order her groceries by checking off a list that the local grocery would give her. The next week the whole order was personally delivered by the grocery. Now we see that people order from a check list on the Internet and have their groceries home delivered. Hmmm are we going around in circles as far as some aspects of curstomer service in the Internet age?
