Phew!
I’m happy that webinar is over. It sure is tough doing a training on Instagram the day Instagram decides to piss off millions of its users… again!
Nonetheless, there is definitely valuable takeaway from this presentation that you can easily incorporate into your social media marketing strategy for your business.
One of the most talked about “ninja tactics” of the presentation was the easy-as-pie Instagram backlinking strategy we tested out in our social research… so let’s recap this step by step. Here’s how to create valuable backlinks to your site on Instagram with one simple post!
Step 1: Take your photo, crop it, and add a filter! You can also save photos to your phone’s photo library via the Dropbox or Flickr mobile apps if you’d rather use a more professional image.
Step 2: Add a photo description and include the URL you want to drive traffic to. Remember to use specific hashtags that will get your content to the hands of your target audience.
Step 3: Geotag your site! Why “check-in” somewhere when you can give your site some extra branding? Create your URL as a location and pop it in your photo.
Step 4: Share the image to your social sites, and email list! Valuable backlinks will generate on Twitter, Tumblr, Facebook, and even in e-mail. Your photo can also be sent to Flickr, and your Instagram Web Profile photos can easily be pinned to Pinterest.
See how Instagram can be used to drive some serious traffic in so little time? This is just another way you can put this social media “stuff” to good use.
Happy Instagramming!

Is there a way to manage multiple Instagram accounts from a phone? I have a personal account and my biz/blog account.
Hi Scott,
Sadly there is no app that allows Instagram users to switch to and from multiple accounts. The best you can do is log in and out of accounts manually. Hope this helps!
That's what I figured, maybe multiple account management will come in the future, thanks for the reply.
Should you leave the tags permanently inside the description or should you swap them out regularly?
Andrew, the tags you place in your photo's description will stay there permanently., and your photo will stay archived under those tags in Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr.
